#7210 The Neurologic Upper Extremity I: Preparations and Impairment  Treat the entire upper extremity kinematic chain; not just arm movement!  In the first part of this two-part course series, Dr. Steve Page integrates lecture, video, and case examples to discuss the upper extremity kinematic chain. Specific discussions include comprehensive evaluation and treatment of the core, posture, scapulae, and hemiplegic shoulder, and body/arm positioning, and their relative contributions to upper extremity motor performance and function. Dr. Page will integrate biomechanical assessment and clinical problem-solving skills to prioritize impairments and progress interventions. A mixture of demonstrations will be used to allow immediate incorporation into practice. These treatment ideas will include priority stretches, low/high tone, subluxation, pain, and functional activities. Note: This is the first course in a two-part series focusing on management and restoration of the paretic upper extremity.  Course instruction method includes: Lecture, Demonstration, Vides, Case Studies, Question/Answer, Group Discussion.
